• One Award each shall be given to students with First highest and Second Highest marks or grade (as applicable) for three classes i.e., 10th class, Intermediate (or Class XII) and Degree (i.e., 3 year non-technical degree courses of BA, BSc, BCom, BBA and BCA).
• 10th and Intermediate classes shall be of any board i.e., State Boards, CBSE, ISCE and NIOS.
• The students who completed the course in the immediate preceding academic year are eligible to apply for award. For ex. Students who have completed the course in the previous academic year only are eligible to apply in the current year.
• Minimum percentage of marks for applying award is 75% and above.
• The award for each class (10th, Inter and Degree) shall be awarded to the student with First highest and Second Highest marks or grade among the applications received.
• This award is applicable to students from Golkonda Vyapari Families residing anywhere in India i.e., the surname of the student as per certificate should be from the list of Golkonda Vyapari surnames.
• One student can apply in one category only at a time.
• We will make an appeal to GVSS members every year to come forward to sponsor the Merit awards. Then the award shall be given on the sponsor’s name. In the absence of any sponsor, the GVSS funds shall be utilised for the purpose.
• The decision of the GVSS, Hyderabad is final and no further correspondence will be entertained.
• Students shall download the application from the GVSS, Website.

Merit Award

• Cash prize, a shield and a certificate shall be given for each awardee.
• If two or more students attain same marks or grade and apply for award, the award amount shall be shared among all the students equally.

Apart from the above awards by GVSS, Hyderabad, the following family sponsored awards are also available. These awards also shall be presented by the sponsorers to the eligible candidates or their parents/wards during the Kartika Vanabhojanalu function being organised by Golkonda Vyapari Sankshema Sangham-Hyderabad (GVSS-Hyderabad) every year. However, the criteria and selection is the prerogative of the family sponsoring the award, which is mentioned below.

The Velidandi Family Award was instituted in 2022 as a joint initiative by Dr. Velidandi V. L. Kanta Rao’s family and his younger brother Dr. Velidandi V. R. Durga Prasad’s family, in memory of their parents Late Sri Velidandi Ramadass and Late Smt. Velidandi Santha (daughter of Avasarala family).

This award consists of a one-time cash presentation of Rs. 10000/- each in Engineering and Medical streams with the following criteria:

1. Top ranker in JEE -Advanced Exam among the applications received, for that year, who has secured a B.Tech / Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech seat and joined in any of the IIT’s. The candidate should have appeared in the qualifying exam and the counselling for seat allotment in the year of presentation of award.
2. Top ranker in NEET Exam among the applications received, for that year, who secured a seat and joined in any Govt Medical College or Category A (Convenor/Government) quota seat in a Private Medical College. 3. This award is applicable students from Golconda Vyapari Families residing anywhere in India, i.e., the surname of the student as per certificate should be from the list of Golkonda Vyapari surnames.

The Nidasanametla Venkata Srinivas Memorial Award is instituted in 2024 by his wife Mrs. Nidasanametla Vaidehi in memory of her late husband, who did yeomen service for the development of GVSS-Hyderabad as a life member and as office bearer in different capacities for many years.

This award consists of a one-time cash presentation of Rs. 5000/- to a Medical student with the following criteria:

1. Second best ranker in NEET Exam among the applications received, for that year, who secured a seat and joined in any Govt Medical College or Category A (Convenor/Government) quota seat in a Private Medical College. The candidate should have appeared in the qualifying exam and the counselling for seat allotment in the year of presentation of award.
2. This award is applicable students from Golconda Vyapari Families residing anywhere in India, i.e., the surname of the student as per certificate should be from the list of Golkonda Vyapari surnames.

The Dronamraju Sister’s Award was instituted in 2024 by Mrs. Subradra, Mrs. Saroja, Mrs. Sujatha and, by Dr. Kanta Rao on behalf of his late wife Mrs. Surekha, in memory of their parents and Bheemunipatnam residents, Late Sri Dronamraju Ramakrishna Rao and Late Smt. Meenakshi (daughter of Avasarala family).

The reward will be presented to the eligible student or his / her parents during the Kartika Vana Bhojanalu function organised by Golkonda Vyapari Sankshema Sangham-Hyderabad (GVSS, Hyderabad) in that year.

This award consists of a one-time cash presentation as detailed below:

1. Rs. 6000/- each to top rankers in JEE -Mains Exam among the applications (male and female, separately) received, who has secured a B.Tech / Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech seat and joined in any of the NIT’s. The candidate should have appeared in the qualifying exam and the counselling for seat allotment in the year of presentation of award.
2. Rs. 8000/- to the best percentile scorer in CAT Exam among the applications received who has secured a seat and joined in two-year MBA programme in any of the IIM’s. The candidate should have appeared for the counselling for seat allotment in the year of presentation of award.
3. This award is applicable students from Golconda Vyapari Families residing anywhere in India, i.e., the surname of the student as per certificate should be from the list of Golkonda Vyapari surnames.
4. The cash award shall be presented to the selected candidate(s) or his / her parents/wards/guardian during the Karthika Vana Bhojan.

Late Sri Parasa Venkata Apparao garu, with a firm belief that education is very important to children, encouraged them to align towards studies and taught them free of cost. In his remembrance, his grand-children, came forward to institute Sri Parasa Venkata Apparao Incentive Award of Rs. 5000/- to a Class 10 girl student who secured highest marks in Mathematics and General Science.

This award consists of a one-time cash presentation with the criteria as detailed below:

1. This award is applicable only to girl students who passed Class 10 (of any board i.e., State Boards, CBSE, ISCE and NIOS) in year of presentation of award.
2. Minimum percentage of marks for applying the award is 85% each in Mathematics and General Science.
3. The award shall be given to the student with highest combined marks (or percentage) in Mathematics and General Science among the applications received.
4. This award is applicable to students from Golkonda Vyapari Families residing anywhere in India i.e., the surname of the student as per certificate should be from the list of Golkonda Vyapari surnames.
5. If two or more students attain same marks and apply for award, the award amount shall be shared among all the students equally.

Criteria for the selection

• Vedam awards shall be given to students who are learning vedam in any Veda Pathasala
• Token help shall be given to EWS family of our community or outside community for marrying their Girl child
• Token help to any sick people from our community or outside community. For outside community concurrence from all the ASF Members needs to take for providing the help.
• ASF family members are barred from availing any medical facility.
• One person can apply to any category only one time.
• If two or persons applied to same category the decided amount will distributed among the applicants
• Support extended for preparation of competitive exams shall be on reimbursement basis (first you spend and then claim). Those attending coaching classes need to submit the receipt from coaching center. Those studying at home need to furnish proof of expenditure towards purchase of study material. In any case, the amount reimbursed shall be limited to Rs. 5000/- or as per actuals, whichever is lower.
• First priority will be given to the Golconda Vyapari Community

Selection Procedure

Criteria for the selection

• An amount of Rs. 5000/- each shall be given to the applicant with highest marks in Certificate category and in Diploma category, from among the applications received.
• The awards will be given to applicants of Carnatic Classical Music (Vocal) category only
• The Certificate or Diploma should be from a recognized University / Institute
• The maximum age limit of the applicant should not be more than 35 years as on the last date of submission of the application.
• If two or more persons qualify under the same category, the specified amount will be distributed among the applicants
• The awards are applicable to applicants from Golconda Vyapari Community only

The Dronamraju Family Award was instituted in 2025 by Prof. D. S. Kesava Rao, aged 70, resident of Warangal, in honour of his parents Late D.V. Narasimha Rao and Late Dronamraju Thayaramma. The award will be given by him.

The award will be presented to the eligible students or his / her parents during the Kartika Vanabhojanalu function organised by Golkonda Vyapari Sankshema Sangham-Hyderabad (GVSS, Hyderabad) in that year.

This award consists of a one-time cash presentation of Rs. 5000/- each in Engineering (B.Tech.) with the following criteria:

1. Highest ranker in EAMCET Exam among the applications received, for that year, who has secured a B.Tech / Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech seat in Convenor/Government quota (free seat category) and joined in any of the Engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh in that year. The candidate should have appeared in the qualifying exam and counselling for seat allotment in the year of presentation of the award.
2. Highest ranker in TG EAPCET Exam among the applications received, for that year, who secured a seat and joined in any Engineering college in Convenor/Government quota (free seat) for B.Tech programme. The candidate should have appeared in the qualifying exam and the counselling for seat allotment in the year of presentation of the award.
3. This reward is applicable to all Golconda Vyapari Families residing anywhere in India.
